Rules

Why play a Rule card?

Rule cards are fun!! They get people laughing almost immediately. Some of the rules cause people to bark, while others restrict them from saying “I”, touching their head, or pointing.

Rules let you tease other players to keep barking or trick them into breaking it. It can get competitive but more importantly, have fun with it!

When can you play a Rule?

You can play a Rule card instead of a point card or a steal card. When you first play a Rule, make sure to announce the rule out loud to all players and place it in front of you so everyone can see it.

Can you get penalized for breaking a rule if you're reading the rule out loud?

Yes! If there is an active Rule that does not allow you to say a certain word and it is a part of a new Rule, then you still can’t say it. Be creative when reading new rules out loud.

Who has to follow the rules?

All players have to follow any Rule that has been played,

EXCEPT:

1. You’re exempt from your own rule(s)
2. If you have the Shield card, then you’re exempt from ALL Rules.

If no one catches you break a rule, then lucky you! You won’t have to draw from the Penalty deck.

When does the rule take effect?

The rule takes into effect as soon as the player has read the rule aloud and puts the card down in front of them.

Penalty Cards

What are Penalty cards?

Every time a player breaks a rule and gets caught, they must draw one card from penalty deck. There are mostly negative 5 point cards and a few negative 10 point cards and one negative 20 point card.

What do I do with the Penalty cards?

Place your Penalty cards face up neatly in front of you, near your other Point cards. As you accumulate Penalty cards that match the value of your Point cards, discard equivalent points to the discard pile. For example, if you have two -5 point Penalty cards and also a 10 Point card, you may discard all three cards since they cancel themselves out.

Steal Cards

What are Steal cards?

Steal cards allow you to take one card from any player. You may take any face up card. You may even a card from another player’s hand — you just can’t look.

What can I steal?

You can steal a point card, a Rule, Shield, or whatever they may have in their hands.

Blocks

When do you play a block card?

Block cards are the only cards you can play out of turn. You can only play a block card when another player is playing a steal against you.

Can you block another block card?

Yes! If someone plays a block card against your card, you can play a block card against their block. This means their block is canceled. You can play blocks on blocks as many times as you can.
